Newspapers have church pages for a number of reasons. The layout and content of church pages varies from paper to paper, however, they may contain one or more of the following: Church Notes, News or Briefs; a Church Directory; Local or National Minister Lessons or Sermonettes; a Feature; and last but not least Sponsors.
Newspapers choose to include business sponsors on the church page to underwrite the cost of producing the page each week. In almost all instances the cost is never totally covered, but if the newspaper has already decided to provide this community service, then the revenue from the sponsors helps. For their sponsorship, businesses receive an ad either in block or signature format. Click Here to see some actual case studies.
