How does Keister-Williams increase my revenue?
We already covered the revenue questions with our revenue calculator. We normally do not want to guarantee a large number of sponsors unless we know your market or have comparative newspapers that we work for already. Our goal is to increase your revenue via rate increases, gradual buildups of new sponsors, reformatting the page, and/or a large-scale new sales effort. The trick is to find out from you what works in your market and come up with a plan to achieve it.
How do we sell the sponsors?
In order to sell the page successfully, we combine the best of onsite sales and telephone sales in whatever way makes you comfortable. We want to make sure that your staff knows who we are and why we are there. We represent ourselves as adjunct staff that works only with the church page.
Sponsors that do not pay are a potential problem for any newspaper.
We work with you to prevent this problem. If it occurs we actually help collect but the bottom line is - if you don't get paid, we don't get paid either! First, we always get the full name of the authorizing person for the ad so any questions can be directed through a chain that links us to you and the sponsorship customer. Second, we follow your credit and delinquency procedures so past non-payers do not get on the page. You approve all sponsors that go on your church page. Third, if we are contacted that someone is delinquent in paying, we try to collect it for you. Since we are paid on commission, it is in our interest to pleasantly but persistently pursue the sponsor for payment. We even have a special form set up to assist our contact person at the newspaper with the sharing of information back and forth as we get promises to pay and perform the necessary follow-up. Finally, when it is necessary to write off the money we credit our commission so that your exposure is limited. The last thing we want is loss of revenue for either of us.

You do not have to use our feature to have us sell the sponsors for you but it makes an attractive centerpiece on the page and attracts readers. If you want to know whether we have an agreement in place with your group, contact us or request a Marketing Package. We know how to adhere to group standards and business practices while demonstrating the flexibility to work closely with each individual newspaper. Our agreements involve a standard one-page set of terms and conditions that spell out how Keister-Williams will sell, bill, provide the feature, and many other commitments we will make to you as our customer. All we ask for is a contact person, tearsheets, and a time commitment equivalent to the amount of effort we put in to building up the revenue on the church page.
